Peer Review Policy

MATCHA employs a double anonymous peer review process that maintains the confidentiality of both reviewers and authors. The editorial team assigns manuscripts that successfully undergo the initial screening to section editors, who thereafter invite external reviewers to assess the manuscript's originality and quality. The double anonymous peer review procedure is a crucial mechanism for ensuring high research quality by providing constructive feedback to authors. The reviewers’ evaluations assist the editor in determining a manuscript's eligibility for publication. All reviewers are expected to adhere to the review guidelines established by the journal. Each article is assessed by expert reviewers before the editor's decision.

All editors, reviewers, and authors are required to comply with the ethical principles established by MATCHA to ensure the integrity of the double anonymous peer review process. If a reviewer has a conflict of interest that could potentially compromise the objectivity of the evaluation, whether due to financial relationships, academic competition, personal relationships, or professional affiliations, the reviewer must promptly notify the editor and decline the review invitation. Reviewers are strictly prohibited from disclosing any part of the manuscript to third parties. The manuscript handling process is conducted objectively and in a timely manner. The overall editorial process, from initial submission to acceptance, is targeted to be completed within 129 days. Following acceptance, the manuscript will be published within 11 days, subject to the completion of final editorial and production procedures.
