Focus and Scope

MATCHA: Journal of Modern Approaches to Communication, Humanities, and Academia is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that focuses on publishing original research articles and critical literature reviews in the fields of English Language Teaching (ELT), Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, and English Literature. The journal focuses on integrating theoretical frameworks and practical applications and promotes interdisciplinary scholarship among researchers, educators, and practitioners in English studies and related disciplines.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:

  1. English Language Teaching (ELT): studies on language pedagogy, classroom practices, instructional strategies, and language assessment.
  2. Linguistics: research addressing theoretical and descriptive linguistics, including discourse analysis and language structure.
  3. Applied Linguistics: studies examining the application of linguistic theories in educational and communication contexts.
  4. Second and Foreign Language Acquisition: research on language learning processes in ESL/EFL settings.
  5. Curriculum Development: studies on curriculum design, syllabus development, and instructional materials in English education.
  6. English Literature: critical analyses of literary works, genres, and literary theories.

All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Submissions undergo an initial editorial screening followed by an anonymous peer review process. Manuscripts that do not align with the journal’s focus and scope or fail to comply with the author guidelines may be rejected prior to the review process.
